Exceptional People and Your Care
Exceptional People and Your Care
Quality and your safety begin with the very best doctors, nurses and health professionals. They care for you and about you.
What inspires you to do your best at work? All of the employees at
Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network embrace a set of
behaviors--called PRIDE--in order to provide the highest quality of
care. We put great emphasis on these behaviors. In fact, every employee
is evaluated annually on PRIDE to ensure they’re practicing our values.
PRIDE means:
-
Privacy.
We knock before entering a
room, cover or screen patients appropriately and protect patients from
unnecessary intrusions. Medical information is handled with the utmost
confidence and is only accessed or discussed as necessary for patient
care and hospital business.
-
Respect.
We value each person's uniqueness. We are
concerned about both the medical and non-medical needs of our patients
and their families. We encourage people to ask questions, and we
promise to supply appropriate answers with patience and understanding.
-
Involvement.
We believe active participation and
effective communication are clearly linked to patient satisfaction. We
spend time with patients, share information in an easy-to-understand
manner and ask a patient’s permission before performing any procedure.
-
Dignity.
We aim to make your experience ideal by
remembering that little things make a big difference. We always smile,
say “hello,” and ask patients if they need anything before leaving a
room.
-
Empathy.
We ask patients if we are meeting their needs
and take the time to listen to patients when they need someone to talk
to. We not only care for our patients, we care
about them.
